Well…we have our first student! I’m happy to be getting the process started, and I’m hoping the use of social media will help spread the word.
That said, Pauline is a wonderful, bright-eyed student excited for her first trip across the Atlantic. (I still remember mine. To Russia. Yikes!)
She comes from a small town near Lyon
and her greatest interests are basketball, photography, and family. Pauline describes herself as extremely easy to get along with and very excited to come to North Carolina. She’s hoping to improve her English to help her find a career when the time comes, but most of all wants to learn about ordinary life in America. As you can see from this photo, she also enjoys, like most teenagers, just hanging out with friends:
So that’s that. The first post for the first of many students coming to NC this summer. It’s good to get started. 🙂
(If you think you or someone you know might be a good host family for Pauline this summer, please contact me directly at 336-254-7812 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also message me on Twitter: @terredeslangues. The students in her group will be staying from June 15th through July 15th. They bring their own spending money and are fully insured. There are no costs to a host family other than sharing meals at the table.)
We hope to hear from you soon!
